Qui sommes-nous

The Organisation of Special Needs Education Teachers (OSNET) was established in December 2014. We are special education teachers from different angles of Tanzania with heartfelt and passionate to serve by sympathy the disabled community of Tanzania mainland.
Our jingle (motto) is: To empower, include and save dignity of each unique individual
We work voluntarily within and after regular school hours to harmonizing the community and social readers to include people with disability in all factors of life.

Vision statement
To have a society in which life and chances for children with disabilities are assured and supported in terms of rights and aspiration.

Mission statement.
To be the voice of children with disabilities, working with them to achieve full participation and equal status in the society through independent living.

Our goal is to promote inclusive practices by increasing struggle ,cultivate dreams and transform children with disability to the world and reach their excellence.

What we do
• OSNET operates to improve academic skills and the socioeconomic welfare for students as well as the entire community with disabilities. As a nonprofit making organisation, we tally with other national and international policies to guarantee complete inclusion for disabled learners and assist practitioners to adopt more inclusive strategies for responding for children`s special learning needs in regular schools and support regular teachers education.
• We are obligated to sensitize the community to change negative attitudes and view people with disabilities as right members in the community.
• We also use cultural dances and songs to please the community to stop from discriminating children with disabilities.
• We raise talents of our disabled students by exhibiting their feelings through drama during public holidays
• We insists training sign language programs so as to unite hearing and deaf learners around schools settings.

Projects:
• Empowernmt project based on Sign language training for deaf and hearing learners from in 20 incllusive secondary schools in Tanzania
• Creating and enabling learning, coaching and mentorshing of teaching staffs in 20 inclusive secondary schools in Tanzania.
• United for our rights program: OSNET is running a 30 month program in 29 wards from three district of Mara region. The program is ideally based on increasing awareness to marginalized groups towards public revenues and expenditures.
• Coaching about the Sexual reproductive health and rights for young people (deaf) aged from 11-18 at Mwembeni Priamry schools
• Creating awareness about persona advocacy and security skills for deaf and mild intellectually impaired young students at Nyarigamba B Primary School.
• Liquid soap training: OSNET is currently running a second liquid soap making program to three adverse groups of disabled pupils from Saint. Justin Center of Disabled Children in Musoma district.

Wilfred Serikali is the Chairperson of the Organisation of Special Needs Education Teachers (OSNET).

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
