Qui sommes-nous

www.therapie.de is an initiative of Pro Psychotherapy, an organisation registered as non profit-making. www.therapie.de helps people in their difficult search for professional assistance. The portal acts as a user-friendly information and research platform, particularly for lay people. In addition, our organisation works towards improvements in professional exchange among experts.

Pro Psychotherapy was founded in 2004 in order to help people with psychiatric problems. In 2007, www.therapie.de came into being as an extension of this. Many people need professional help, but do not know at first where to turn. On top of this, while Germany offers a wide variety of psychotherapy services, it is unfortunately difficult to get an overview. Even many health care professionals have problems with grasping them. On average it takes six to eight years before people with mental health problems receive qualified psychotherapy!

Alongside supporting victims, their families and other health care mediators, we work for an increase in professionalism among psychotherapists who offer treatment, in that we provide information and forums etc.for professional exchange.

In particular, the tasks of the organisation are:
• informing, enlightening and advising patients, their relatives and others affected, institutions and the public about mental health issues, especially psychotherapy and self-help.
• assisting during psychosocial consultation
• publishing the latest state of knowledge on questions of mental health, in particular in relation to psychotherapy, to inform people and institutions working in this area.
• enabling professional exchange among mental health workers.

On request, we can offer other net participants advice, give a presentation and provide up to date information and contacts in the field of our work.
