Qui sommes-nous

Kilele Junior Foundation is registered NGO located in a middle-income eastern suburb of the capital city of Kenya, Nairobi. Kilele Junior Foundation was established in December, 2008.
We are pioneering a unique system where we integrate children from very humble backgrounds with those from more privileged ones.
Kilele Junior School was founded out of the concern that if school drop outs and lack of education persists, there shall be a large segment of children out of school that will be exposed to societal dangers attributed to less privileged areas, for example drug/ child abuse, child trafficking and crime.

Main target
Our main target is education for children from deprived backgrounds locally, upcoming youth and the general welfare of the mentioned target group. Also benefiting from this initiative are refugee children from Southern Sudan.

Our work
The school aims at bringing children from different origins and socioeconomic backgrounds together and to provide them all with them with equal opportunity to education.
Kilele Junior School provides a unique model of main stream schooling and the inclusion of less privileged children.
This kind of systems enables the school to charge parents from better backgrounds and give free tuition and meals to those who deserve the same opportunity but lack the finances. The school admits children from all walks of life in Kenya. We have children from Kenya and as far as Southern Sudan.

Objectives:
• Provide friendly and home like atmosphere that include meals together with supervision and guidance in school assignments.
• Liaise with parents and guardians on areas of their children’s weakness and offer professional guidance and support.
• Offer counseling and mentorship sessions to enable the kids to grow within a positive mental stature and overcome stigma.
• Identify and nurture talent and provide guidance.
• Organize holiday camps for healthy living and as a CSR initiative aimed at protecting the youth from ill vices (drug abuse, alcohol).
• Work in partnership with relevant government departments and donors for capacity building and resource mobilization.

Activities:
• Feeding Programme: Kilele Junior School offers nutritious meals tailor-made to suit vibrant and intelligent growth of the children.
• We believe sound mind natures a sound body and we have ball games such as soccer, handball and other fun sporting activities within our limited school environment.
• We engage children’s creativity in drama, poetry, music, singing games and art classes.
