Qui sommes-nous

The Aktionskreis Pater Beda (Father Beda Action Circle) was founded in 1990. It gives practical support to:

• aid projects for children, including street children;

• pastoral and social work by the Franciscans;

• cooperatives for the landless and for smallholders;

• human rights organisations.

The action circle informs the public about poverty and injustice in Brazil. It raises funds by collecting (paper, second hand clothing), by donations and by grants from the public and the church. It organises church services, lectures and exhibitions.

The Aktionskreis Pater Beda supervises and supports partner projects in Brazil.

Father Beda and Udo Lohoff work full-time for the Circle. There is also a secretary and a community service worker, as well as countless volunteers, without whose dedicated help many of the activities could not take place.

On request, we can offer other net participants advice, an expert opinion, or a presentation. We can provide up-to-date information and contacts in the field of our work.
