Global Resource Alliance, Inc. is an all-volunteer 501(c)3, non-profit organization headquartered in Ojai, California. It was founded by Lyn Hebenstreit in April 2002 to provide financial and technical support to community organizations in the world's least developed regions working for social, economic and environmental change. In cooperation with local, community based organizations, Global Resource Alliance pursues a natural, holistic and sustainable approach to poverty in the Lake Victoria region of Tanzania.

We believe that each person on earth has a right to the resources necessary to enjoy a life of dignity and an environment that fosters personal growth and development. We believe that natural, holistic and environmentally sustainable solutions are the best path, and that through sharing, cooperation, accountability and grassroots participation, this vision can become a reality.

Our programs include

- educational grants,
- the promotion of microfinance,
- water resource development,
- organic gardening,
- malaria prevention,
- alternative health,
- Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) prevention,
- alternative energy,
- sustainable building and
- direct assistance to vulnerable populations like AIDS orphans and the elderly.

Lyn spends most of his time coordinating GRA’s programs in water resource development, microfinance and sustainable building. He lives with his wife Tara Maria Blasco and has two grown children – a son Bo, and a daughter, Monica who has served on the GRA Board of Directors since 2005. Lyn has also taught meditation since the early 1970s, and is currently co-director of the Ojai Wisdom Center.
