The Sudanese Association for Youth Development (SAYD) is a voluntary, non-profit, non-political association that contributes - along with other civil associations - to achieving sustainable development. SAYD was established in 2001 as the United Nations Friends Association. This name was changed to the Sudanese Association for Youth Development (SAYD) in 2004. SAYD is a registered NGO in the Ministry of Humanitarian Aid, in the Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC).

SAYD aims to promote and develop the Sudanese youth, thus enhancing the role of youth in the community, as well as to direct young people towards sustainable development and the creation of a better living standard that will help them to develop economically, socially and culturally. SAYD is concerned with youth capacity-building in different areas. This may be achieved through the following objectives:

- Involving youth in programs of environmental conservation,
- working in contraception and the control of HIV/AIDS and STDs,
- encouraging reproductive health & reproductive health rights programs,
- establishing cultural exchange programs,
- linking Sudanese youth with international youth organizations.

The association can point to several achievements in the areas of cultural development and health, including:

- Several workshops and sessions on the eradication of HIV/AIDS transmission,
- health awareness sessions against harmful practices,
- participation in the WHO polio eradication programs.

For other net participants we can offer overnight facilities. Further we can deliver a lecture, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
