The Mission for Youth Rights was established to promote, encourage and facilitate youth sensitization on issues related to family life, youth rights, healthcare and nutrition, environmental education and awareness campaigns. It deals with rural youth organizations in helping them to organize their community based organizations by training them in:
- business skillmanagement,
- market research,
- division of labour,
- counselling on HIV/AIDS,
- soliciting funds for their activities,
- environment protection /management/Human-/youth-Rights.
The mission assists them also to get legal registration/recognition. Further it promotes rural youth drama/sports clubs. Current the organization is fundraising for US$ 70.000 to build a medical centre, social centre, education facilities (primary school) on an island in Lake Victoria. There is no any medical facility on this Island with over 300 people. The environment is degraded and the organisation wants to restore it. It plants trees so that the birds can be back on this island.
Second project (Young Ladies Empowerment Project):
- knitting and tailoring,
- computer literacy,
- adult-literacy (reading and writing).
In line with youth empowerment the Mission for Youth Rights has a project, which involves training of youths in the named three disciplines. After a research on youth unemployment there is a need to train at least 25 youths in these skills every six months and to give them on loan the sewing knitting machines or computers so that they can start earning their own living. The organization lacks funds for purchasing these tools. It is its humble appeal to any donor/sympathiser to donate computers, sewing/knitting machines to our NGO.
For other net participants we can offer overnight facilities. Further we can deliver a lecture and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
