Tellavision is the first streetwear label for human rights! Our idea is simple and effective: needy kids become designers and you, the wearer, become their voice. We see ourselves as creative multiplicators, standing up for for the rights and interests of exploited and disadvantaged people who suffer discrimination, especially children and youngsters.

Motivation & Concept
The motivation to found Tellavision Clothing was based on a desire to help people (particularly children) who, for regional, political, cultural or personal reasons, were living in extremely difficult circumstances. We are explicitly against any form of discrimination or oppression. Unfortunately, not everyone can pull themselves out of a precarious or even life threatening situation. That is where Tellavision Clothing comes in. We support institutions and organisations that make such self-help possible. Potential has to be tapped and established in order to ensure independent growth. Tellavision Clothing works towards justice and the realisation of potential, thus contributing to “helping people to help themselves”.

Our work
We place verified fair trade T-shirts at the disposal of youngsters, which they can use as a personal “projection screen”. Hand-painted, authentic motifs publicise their needs and interests in their undeserved living conditions. What turns out depends entirely on the “art directors” - the kids. Besides cheerful motifs from their natural surroundings, there is space here to draw attention to their predominant grievances. Each collection thus becomes an unpredictable and authentic adventure. A fixed sum goes directly to the appropriate institutions. These can be children's villages, schools, orphanages or reception centres anywhere in the world. With our textiles we consciously and forcefully provide an alternative to anonymous, mass produced items which are often associated with the mechanisms of globalisation. We publicise the visions of children and young people from partner projects we have visited at home and abroad, using instruments of communication of a cultural, educational and multi-media nature. We use our fashion shows, slide shows, parties, sports events, music, art, street-art and theatre projects and on and offline campaigns to raise awareness, to inform the public and to raise funds.

Our projects
• 2010 Tell a Vision from Tanzania: the Tanzania collection campaigns for the acceptance and integration of albinos into Tanzanian society.
• 2011 Tell a Vision from India: the Indian collection is part of the “Terres des Hommes” campaign whereby children are responsible for their parents. Most affected are children whose ecological rights to an intact environment, healthy life and positive future prospects (according to the UN Convention of Children's Rights) are grossly violated. Choosing our foods and clothing bears a direct relationship to the situation of rural children and sustainable agriculture in India. That is why, by means of our T-shirt designs, we endeavour to make it clear how our consumer behaviour affects the lives of these children.
• 2012 Tell a Vision from Rio +20: participation in Rio+20, United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development and demonstration for children's ecological rights.
