Kav LaOved is an independent non-governmental organization committed to the defence of worker rights in Israel. Kav LaOved provides legal aid and representation to the most disadvantaged workers in Israeli society: Migrant workers, Palestinians, new immigrants, placement agency employees, and other low earners.
On the personal level Kav LaOved provides legal aid. It begins with the collection and recording of workers' complaints, and continues through negotiation with employers, preparation of lawsuits, and representation of workers in the Labour Court. The organization also advocates for workers in instances of passport confiscation, work accidents, violence, incarceration, illegal deportation, sexual harassment, etc.
On the public level Kav LaOved engages in extensive advocacy work via Israeli courts, the Knesset, government ministries, and the media. It gathers information, and documents the circumstances of disadvantaged worker groups in Israel. The results are processed into educational outreach via special publications, the Internet, seminars and conferences.
For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, deliver a lecture and procure expert information in the field of our work.
