The Lukomorje Cross-Cultural Language and Culture Society, based in Bochum, Germany, was founded in 1999 and is registered as a non-profit organisation. It has been a full member of the German Charity Association .since 2004. Most of its activities are in the field of extra-curricular education for children and juveniles. The idea of founding a society for Russian-speaking families and children with a migration background arose out of a working group for immigrants from the former USSR, which had started in 1999 and which continues its work to this day, under its President, Tatyana Gavrylyako, within the framework of our society.
For over ten years the primary aim of all the working group's and society's work has been to promote holistic (language) advancement, aesthetic education and further education of all Russian and/or German speaking children and juveniles, with or without a migration background, in a cross-cultural context. Our project activities aim to give these young people and their parents an opportunity to appreciate their own culture in their first and second language (German / Russian).
The content, range and duration of each project depends entirely on the needs, wishes and interests of our members, old and young, according to the subject matter and the age group.
• Russian language and (world) literature
• Mathematics, Natural sciences
• Cinema and theatre
Most of our project activities usually take place on Saturdays – according to subject matter and age group – in the lecture rooms of the Ruhr University in Bochum.
• Ukraine-Germany Youth Encounter 2014: Youth in Action
• Clay modelling
• Beadwork Club
Tatyana Gavrylyako is the president of the Lukomorje Cross-Cultural Language and Culture Society.
On request we can offer other net participants advice, give a presentation, and provide up-to-date information and contacts in the field of our work.
